(1) The construction of mining anchor rods requires the formation of a road cut generally about 2 meters high in the soil. Therefore, the soil needs to have a certain degree of natural "bonding" and bonding, otherwise it needs to be excavated, protected, or reduced in the height of the excavation layer to stabilize the excavation surface, which increases the complexity and cost of construction.
(2) There needs to be an underground space on site that allows for the installation of mining anchor rods. In the central area of the city, if the building adjacent to the excavation pit has a basement or building foundation and the horizontal distance is small, anchor rods cannot be set. In this case, pile anchor technology can be used to complete support. By adjusting the position of the anchor rod and increasing the inclination angle, the anchor rod can pass through the basement or building foundation.
(3) For formations with difficulties in drilling or those limited by local equipment conditions, the drilling cost is too high, resulting in an overall increase in cost.
(4) In soft clay or clay layers that are prone to creep, due to the low frictional resistance of mining anchor rods in these soil layers, it is impossible for mining anchor rods to effectively exert their support capacity. In order to maintain sufficient stability, long and high-density mining anchor rods are required, which is economically unreasonable.
